Stargate: SG-1

Members of the StarGate SG-1 board have a chance to create and explore worlds within the framework built by the movie and tv show of the same name. Teams can (and do) head through the rippling blue surface of the wormhole and explore worlds that they build as they go. We do have those first class bad guys: the Goa'uld (or "Snakeheads" as O'Neill dubbed them) now know about Earth and they are making evil plans for us even as we speak.

The wonderful thing about the StarGate is that there is, literally, no end to what kind of world that can be imagined and explored by team members. So far, worlds that look to be a synthesis of several Asian cultures and a Greco-Roman world have been found along with the original SG Abydos destination. Several other worlds are in development and if there is one that you'd like to build, there's probably a planetary designation that will fit!

One important thing that the members have set as their own challenge: StarGate SG-1 stories are strict science-fiction in which races, peoples, gadgets, etc. can appear to be absolutely amazing but they must all have an actually scientific basis. It can look magical but it has to have an explanation that the personnel of the SGC can go to work to figure out.

So, ever wondered what life would be like if the Vikings had won? Or if Genghis Khan's armies had made it to the Rivera? What if the rulers of Zimbabwe had unified sub-Saharan Africa into an empire that lasted into the twenty-first century? All of that and more is possible in StarGate SG-1. If you want to build and explore a planet of your own, drop a note at my home and I'll help you get your team together and ready to step through the event horizon.
