Song & Dance
Music in my life? *S* Music has "been" my life. From listening to my mom sing to me as a child, to singing right along with her, there has always been music in my life.
Early on I discovered how just having the radio on would make the work go faster and make the day go smoother. I looked forward to every change in the season because there was usually some song or tune that went right along with it. At Christmas, my favorite was the little diddy from Payless~~"Merry Christmas from Payless, Merrrrrrry Chrisssssssstmas!!!" I still sing that every year to myself, since the Payless store here has been replaced by a Rite Aid. (so sad)
As I grew older I went through all the different phases, hitting just about every form from opera to classic, to head banging rock and roll. Now though my tastes have refined a bit ~~ along with the volume, since we almost blew several speakers trying to entertain the entire neighborhood from atop our hill. *S*
Now I still have a variety of CD's from every genre, but mostly use my "mood music" when I am writing here at PH. Of course there is the soft Enya when I am in a romantice mood, good old Country Western when writing western. And usually Sound Tracks from the movies when I really want to get creative.
Do I tap my toes, sing along, dance around??? Tap the toes or fingers is a given. I find myself typing along with the music when I am writing. How creative can you get. Sing along??? Only if I want the dogs howling in either protest or trying to drown me out. Dancing??? Pleeeeezzze, I have two left feet, and the critters hide in horror when I try. *S*
But my favorite music is usually something soft, I am truly a romantic at heart. Enya is wonderfully inspiring and I have a special place for all my music by Native American Artist~Carlos Nakai. His Flute is to die for.
When I put either of those on I find myself "waxing poetic", much to the horror of the rest of my family. *S* Amid "pashaaaas" and "good grief's" ~~ I find my creative juices flowing and head for the computer and some time at Pan Historia in the several Novels I love there.
Music in my life??? MUSIC IS MY LIFE ! ! !
