The Music Studio
What’s the purpose of music? It’s common to all cultures, just about any society. Almost everyone feels that syncopation in their soul, the melodies that move the spirit. Scientists may scratch their heads and wonder, but the rest of us will dance on!
With that in mind, your hosts Maddog Varuka and Alanis Archer invite you to join and participate in The Music Studio. We have games (and are always open to more game ideas) and we have discussion on our members’ varied interests – from rock to show tunes, from world music to classical. We’re interested in any sort of music which sings to your spirit, or expresses a mood, or tells a tale. In the past, people have talked about concerts they’ve attended, or delved into instrumentation. A few of our members are actively involved in creating or performing music.
Alanis has been a MoBster at the Studio since 2002; Maddog joined this summer. Due to our respective hectic schedules, we’re open to a third MoBster joining us. If you’d like to be that person, drop us a line and we’ll discuss it.
After all, what is the purpose of music? Perhaps it is “merely” to express an essence of beauty and of life on some other plane that is distinct from, yet may complement, words?
