Interviewed by Calliope

Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus (the character) is a schemer, a General, a lover and some may say, a villain. But I wondered what the man behind the mask was like ~ who was the voice behind the facade.
Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. Being the only child, I inherited the family business after I received my MBA. My position as CEO at the firm keeps me very busy; however, I am privileged to be working with some fine people. In my spare time, I like to read and collect antiques. I can play the piano and do some singing, but I enjoy operas and symphonies even more.
Writing and Roma are a combined passion for me. It’s why I enjoy The
First Triumvirate so much. We have a great bunch of friends there and we learn
from each other. All in all, I must say that I'm having a great experience with
PH.
Q: Why did you join PH? Have you ever done any online writing before in another community like AS? Have you ever done any other writing outside of cybercommunities, such as poetry, journals, or anything for professional publication or personal enjoyment?
My introduction into writing in Roma was at AS. I belonged to The
First Triumvirate and wrote with many good writers. Some of those people followed me to TFT when we brought it here. I have oodles of books on Roma. In undergraduate school, I had a double major. English was one of them. I like to write speeches in RL and enjoy delivering them. Someday, I'd like to write a book.
Q: You write in two Roman novels ~ Century of Chaos and The First Triumvirate. What do you find the most enjoyable about those particular novels? What do you find is the most challenging?
I write in The First Triumvirate and Century of
Chaos. Even though I’m not a board member in COC, I enjoy writing with old friends
there. TFT, however, is my passion. Dia and I created the novel, and we have
put a lot of time and effort into it. There is something about the late Republic
and early Imperial Period that appeals to me.
Q: What are your greatest accomplishments, either in RL on here at PH?
In RL, achieving my MBA was a landmark experience. For PH, it was winning this award.
Q: If you could be any famous person in the world (past or present, fictional or real), what would you be?
I will tell you. One of the greatest Roman historical figures that ever lived is Augustus Caesar. Many might say Julius Caesar, but I believe that Octavian made the empire the greatest in the ancient world through his proven skills as a leader and administrator.
Will Gnaeus reach that level, either in his character in TFT or in Real Life? Only time will tell....
