Under a Venus Moon

The Story: It is the year 2027 - fifteen years after the destruction of all life on earth by the changed course of the planet Venus. Fortunately, this did not come as a surprise to everyone; some people saw it coming and were able to retreat into hiding. A band of Wiccans, a brotherhood of Knights Templar and a Celtic Tribe are among the survivors.
Upon emerging from the caves for the first time in 15 years, the Wiccans are surprised to see a brand new Venus Moon. Venus Rocks start to appear, granting their bearers strange new powers, and even new life. However, all is not rosy - the world may die unless the Wiccans find all the Venus Rocks and the Holy Grail and use it to change the Earth’s rotation, and they have to do it before the ultimate in evil, Sans Graal Moonshadow, does. The bearer of the Grail must be pure in heart - not an easy thing to find in this changed world! There’s a lab full of evil clones, the tempestuous love story of Wiccan Priestess Lyssa and ex-Templar Croga, the great Mother Goddess reincarnated in Amashelle’s baby sister, wolves, body-snatching bad guys, and a puppy you just can’t get mad at no matter how often he pees in your shoes. UVM is a great place to come to explore the workings of magic, to plunge yourself into a world of chivalry, forbidden love, witchcraft and legend, and to join the greatest quest this side of Tolkien! If all this sounds a bit heavy for you, worry not. The Venus Mobs have thought of this and provided some light relief in the Questing Beast poetry thread! You don’t have to be a great poet to join in, although your own work is of course always welcome. Just hunt out the word in CAPITAL LETTERS in the last post, and find a poem - any poem! - that uses that word. Then you can add a bit to the ongoing story. Don’t forget to leave a WORD for the next writer…
There’s also our brand NEW Search For Excalibur thread! The search for Excalibur is a small side story in the novel Under a Venus Moon. The setting is a post-apocalyptic Earth, where the grand cities and high level of technology of the modern era are gone, and the only known survivors and those who had the foresight to see doom’s approach and prepare for it….the Knights Templar and the Wiccans. The legendary sword Excalibur is prophesised to return to the people in a time of great need. This is the general idea behind the Excalibur thread, to take myth and legend and create a story implying that there is indeed truth behind it. The journey will begin with the Templar Knights, who believes they have discovered evidence of the sword’s existence from books in the surviving Templar library. The order hopes to find the sword and one who can wield it as a way of restoring hope to the surviving people. There are sure to be others who will join the quest as it takes them across Europe to England. There will also be those with hidden agendas hoping to acquire the legendary blade as well. Something to remember is that the details of the journey are by no means set in stone. It’s merely a general direction to get started in and can go in any direction from there. Perhaps the sword is never found. Perhaps it even finds its way into the hands of someone with sinister plans. As with everything at Pan, it’s up to the writers.
