The New Commonwealth

Hello, for those of you who don’t know me, I am the wonderfully talented genius, Seamus Harper (please, call me Harper). I am here to tell you all about one of the latest novels to join the scince fiction ranks here at Pan Historia. Now, I can just hear you asking ‘There is a mass of great science fiction novels to be found here at Pan Historia, what makes this one stand apart?’ The answer, of course, is that I’m there. And because, like such gems as Adventures of the Frontier and Star Trek: Beyond Star’s Reach, The New Commonwealth is based on a world created by the brilliant Gene Roddenberry – in this case, the universe of Andromeda (and by brilliant, I mean almost as brilliant as myself).
For three hundred years, Captain Dylan Hunt and his ship, the Andromeda Ascendant, were frozen in time on the event horizon of a black hole. When Beka Valentine and her crew (including, I should note, yours truly) pulled him out into normal time, he immediately went all gung-ho and decided it was up to us to ‘restore order’ to the universe and bring back his beloved Commonwealth. Now, after a couple years of getting shot at, threatened, tricked, shot at, nearly killed, almost eaten, shot at and, oh, did I mention getting shot at? It’s finally coming together.
Now, we just have to deal with the seemingly endless stream of people who don’t want this new Commonwealth to succeed, the approaching Magog world ship (trust me, you don’t want to know what that is… okay, it’s a giant galaxy-sized ship that’s full of flesh-eating monsters that want to lay their eggs in our stomachs and watch their young eat their way out of us – told you, you didn’t want to know.) and the continuation of the people shooting at us, yadda, yadda, yadda – sheesh, I’m starting to sound like one of Dylan’s speeches.
The New Commonwealth has chosen to take a slightly different direction than most of the novels here at Pan. We’ve elected to go with a sort of ‘episode’ format. One episode will last for approximately two or so months, give or take a few weeks (that’s two or so months longer than my longest relationship), and will have its own ‘guest stars’ and plot lines. Our current episode (number one) is featuring the talented Denis fitz Osbern, of the House of Osbern from the Kozak Empire. For a detailed synopsis of that storyline, check out our DJ.
Just recently, The New Commonwealth made it onto the ‘What’s Hot’ list (what’s hot? That would be me – and I’m single, too, *wink*) on the Pan dailies, and we are extremely proud of this accomplishment. If you would like to see what all the fuss is about, drop by, check us out. Readers and Writers are always welcomed (especially young, beautiful women – ow, Rommie, what was that for? Okay, so everyone is welcomed with equality).
