I've seen the players leave
And still I dance a quicken step
Refusing to believe

That the music is gone now

I'm the only one left standing
In this darkened shadow out of time

Step lively my soul does whisper
Keep the music alive
Pound away just one more note
In this wasted effort to survive

But no one hears the music
No one feels the beat
I am just a wasted musician
Who can't admit defeat
