Forgotten Smiles

The heart it bleeds
And dances alone.
In some long lost
And forgotten home.

It kindles not,
It dwindles, it dims.
In silent protest
It calls out to him.

A soft echo reverberates,
Bounces to and fro.
A piece of the heart dies
Forever let go.

It crumbles, it falls
Lies waste to the ground
And in their empty words
Desolation abounds.

A sorrow haunts
The shadow of her eyes.
Her lips no longer curve
With long forgotten Smiles.
