The Winners Circle

by The Pan Historian

There is always something fun to do at Pan Historia if you keep your eyes open. Here in the Winner's Circle we try to keep you updated and informed of events that take place over the next few months. Not only are there winners in contests and games, but winners in the sense of being a part of Pan Historia's community. To create a community of writers, a collective body of creative minds who share and contribute in ways that are not always in plain sight is what makes this a winning place to be.

MAY 2010:
May is the month Pan went into Beta Testing and became a reality. In the Amazing Decade: Share Your Memories thread on the Dailies, you'll see many great stories from members on their fondest memories of Pan. A real insight to how folks came to be here and why they remain. Maybe not a contest or game, but we can all count ourselves winners here.

May saw the return of the Hawaiian & Bowling Shirt Competition and Novel Contests, on the Genre and Zone News Dailies in both April and May hosted by Zone:Romance and Zone:Action where the winners were awarded with their own NEW Novel. Then there was the Find The Fake Novel Titles which took us into the past, winners having to guess which titles were never actually novels from Pan's past.

May was also the month we honor and celebrate the Founders of Pan Historia. Wyatt supplied us with a list of Founders, both past and present, giving site members the opportunity to acknowledge their contributions to Pan Historia through the Adopt a Founder promotion. Warm thanks were sent to Founder's homes by many members. Again, we are all Winners here. You can always look back and send a warm message to a Founder's home today.

JUNE 2010:
June is the month we celebrate the Rise of The Phoenix with Pan's Fifth Annual Phoenix Parade begins on June 25th and will last the weekend. Check out the Article of the Parade in this Edition and take a look back at the past Parades. Should be great fun indeed!

The Celebration of The Sun - Midsummer Fire Fest! took place over the past weekend; June 18 through the Solstice on June 20th hosted on the Dailies by Nóregr: The Wayward Blood of Kings. Tossing a Viking around was the action and there was much feasting and yes, drinking. It was great fun!

JULY 2010:
July is BBQ time, and this year the Zone: Contemporary celebrated all things BBQ by hosting the OMGWTFBBQ! writing contest from July 4th - July 16th, where folks told stories of great times at summer barbecues. Winners walked away with pannies and everyone received a plaque to remember it by. Some great reading there if you want to check it out.

AUGUST 2010:
August closed the summer for Pan Historia with the ""Pancation Postcard" Contest. Entries were created on a template provided by Pan Historia. Front and back entries were outstanding over the contest period, from Aug 12th - Aug 22nd, and I'm sure the judges had quite a time of it trying to decide who would walk away with the winning plaques. Great graphics and hard work by all. Look back and see what you missed.

Check out the Games and Contests Threads
on the Dailies to see what you may have missed.
You never know what you'll find in the works.
