Gaia's Daughters

Despite the fact that women have traditionally been hidden away in many cultures, we have been a definite influence on history, though our contributions have necessarily been behind the scenes in many eras. There have been a number of women who were able to shake off the constraints of their times to become rulers, warriors, and scholars. But it is not only the "famous" women that interest the members of Gaia's Daughters, but also those largely unheralded ladies who, through their quiet efforts, have been the instigators of social change throughout the years.

At Gaia's Daughters, one of the oldest reference books here at Pan, there are discussions about women in ancient times through modern days. From mythological women to scientific women, from literary ladies to entrepreneurs, from royals to athletes, Gaia has a place to talk about all of them.

One of our most popular topics is 10 Things About.., in which members take turns posting a few sentences about our current subject. Our newest game is called Woman Who Art Thou?. Paintings of or by women are posted for our members to identify.

If you are interested in women's history, do come explore Gaia's Daughters. While we don't have any male members at the moment, we had one once, and would welcome another, should any of you guys be so brave.
