Gather ye lords and ladies fair,
Come with me to the Renaissance Faire
Hurry now, we're almost there...
Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la...
-Renaissance Faire, by Blackmore's Night
There is a place where Lords woo fair Ladies, where knights carry tokens from their princesses, pirates run off with wenches, mud faeries cavort with wizards, and sometimes, a gypsy falls in love with a Highland lass... and why shouldn't they? All's Faire at the renaissance faire.
If a rival knight steals thy lady for the carabushka, what can you do? All's Faire, just polish your armor and win her back.
If the man of your dreams is a mundane, don't despair: the faire will win him over. It always does.
If the belly dancer you love is in love with a mud faerie... All's Faire. And there's nothing you can do.
All's Faire is a novel to take place at the Renaissance Faire - at any RenFaire, (real or imagined) in different threads. As rennies travel a lot, the same story line can be moved from Faire to Faire, board to board.
Characters should be colorful, but not god-modey or Mary-Sueish, with a nice selection of good traits, and flaws (and trust me, if they're Rennies, they have flaws. We're very imperfect people).
The RenFaire is a beautiful setting for love, be it courtly or torrid, traditional or avant garde, fated to flicker and die or destined to last forever.
So gather your garb, practice your dancing, and come with me to the Renaissance Faire - you may find love. You may find romance. You may find hope, or fear, or loss. You may. All's Faire in love.
