Stargazer's
Menhir

For countless ages, the celestial canopy has been a mystery marked with fingerprints of the gods and spirits. The placement of the stars, and the alignments of the sun and moon augered towards the yearly patterns of animal migrations, of plantings and harvestings, of annual floodings by such mighty rivers as the Nile.

For as long as humanity has wondered at the stars, it has erected stone menhirs, henges, passage graves, cairns; and has marked a record into stone. Many of these structures were set up with a celestial purpose. Later, buildings and temples were oriented on directional bases.

This Reference Book is intended to discuss these, as well as celestial myths and legends. Our discussions will lead us anywhere in the world, from ancient Egypt through the New World through Celtic lands, Asia and onwards.
