sym-po-si-um
n. pl. sym-po-si-ums or sym-po-si-a
1. A meeting or conference for discussion of a topic, especially one in which the participants form an audience and make presentations.
2. A collection of writings on a particular topic, as in a magazine.
3. A convivial meeting for drinking, music, and intellectual discussion among the ancient Greeks.

[Latin, drinking party, from Greek sumposion : sun-, syn- + posis, drinking; see p (i)- in Indo-European Roots.]

In these hallowed halls, we invite you to come and discuss the learning of the world from the ancient to the modern; from science to myth; from art to history.

Q: Who can belong to the Symposia?
A: Anyone with an interest in reference on Pan, just be sure to read the guidelines and abide by them.

Symposia: Please suggest a syposium (discussion topic), do not create one, and remember that most topics are for discussion, not posting articles found elsewhere on the internet. We do have topics for posting your own original articles and essays with a separate discussion topic. We will only add symposia as they are requested.

The Symposia's date today is:Dec 9th 2012AD
