Awoserra Aqenenra Apepa is the King of Egypt. He came to the throne amidst a violent usurpation of the rightful heir Yanassi, and was the most ambitious of the Hyksos kings. He also ruled for approximately 40 years and gained control over most of Egypt during this period in power, finally even the XVIIth dynasty Theban Princes paid taxes and sent tribute to him

A stocky, powerfully built man, Awoserra a bit shorter than average, and his Egyptian subjects sometimes disparage his Hyksos heritage. But few can deny that he is a capable ruler and a dangerous opponent in battle. Under his aggressive leadership the Hyksos have expanded their control of Egypt from just lower Egypt to all the way to the Nubian frontier.

Now, he plots to deal with the original line of kings, presently represented by the Prince of Thebes, Seqenenra Tao and his family. The only person he truly trust, even more than his wives, is a mysterious young woman called Zahra Seshet.
