In the Crowns of Thorns Novel:
On 29.th of August 1526 at Mohács the late medieval Kingdom of Hungary fell. Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent triumphed on the battlefield. For 150 years was Hungary disintegrated into three parts: the Ottoman conquest in the middle of the country; like a spear to the heart; on the top the capital of Buda. The Western part belonged to the Habsburg Empire and the Eastern territory became the semi-independent Principality of Transylvania.
The nineteen years old King Louis II died in the battle. Historians were never kind to him. He had the reputation of an unfit, and weak-minded ruler.
But what if he survived the disaster? Can he regain the trust of his subjects? Does he another chance than to beg at Ferdinand of Austria or surrender to Suleiman?

Louis’ vulnerability and loneliness is so human and beautifully written! Great portrait of the backstages of a negotiation.
