I must not fear.
FEAR IS THE PATH TO THE DARK SIDE
Fear is the mind-killer.

It is the little death that brings total obliteration.
FEAR LEADS TO ANGER
I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
ANGER LEADS TO HATE
And when it has gone I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
HATE LEADS TO SUFFERING
Only I will remain.

A Hard Day's Night

Psychic Security Intelligence
Psychic Security Intelligence

A man literally ahead of his own time, Jonathan "Jack" Devlin may appear to be a well-dressed British supernumerary, but he is secretly a member of MI9, a super-secret agency in service of Her Majesty whose jurisdiction is dealing with extraterrestrials known as "Oughtnots". Devlin is a top PSI agent, using his biotech-spawned psychic abilities to thwart any KGB advances in psychic intelligence. Within PSI, Devlin is known as "Mr. Kite" because his psychic avatar in the Strawberry Fields (a shared hyperdreamspace) floats on the breeze, immune to gravity.
Devlin was born in the suburbs of London in 1920 as Edmund Grayson. Though he had no idea of his friend's Oughtnot heritage, Edmund was a childhood schoolchum of Jasper Drake, who would later come to be known as Number 9. Edmund joined the RAF at the advent of World War II, showing a great aptitude for aerial maneuvers. Edmund disappeared over the skies of London during the Battle of Britain, mysteriously reappearing 20 years later, not having aged a day. MI9 took him in and helped him acclimate to the 1960's, discovering in the process that his absence had left him altered in many seemingly random ways: he had lost his color vision, he was now comfortable in a much wider range of temperature extremes, and he appears to register an olfactory response to psychic auras.
Mr. Kite and his partner Miss Eleanor Rigby (an interrogations specialist skilled in accessing protected memories while her targets sleep) work under the gloomy Sergeant Pepper (whose talent for bureaucracy is matched only by his psychic shielding). Despite their innuendo-laden flirting, Kite and Rigby have genuine affection for each other.
To avenge a slight against Miss Rigby, Devlin has agreed to join his former schoolchum Number 9 for the latter's raid on The Village. But who is the mysterious Nowhere Man watching from the shadows?

The Midnight People

IN THE WAKING - JAMES "Jimmy" DEVLIN

JimmyJames Devlin, Jimmy to friends, is currently wasting his 20's in the employ of a major New York insurance company. Working data entry, Jimmy spends his days under Damocles's sword of obsolescence. JimmyWhen Jimmy doesn't go home from his dead-end job to his shitty apartment, he's either spending time at the local retirement home Jimmy(court-appointed community service for some legal trouble he got into) or he's engaged in the one thing that gives him an escape from his miserable fucking life: music. Jimmy is something of a musical prodigy, a talent that he's all but pissing away as a member of a cover band, The Arms of Morpheus.

CaitlinCAITLIN FREDERICKSON. Caitlin and Jimmy are very similar people. Both derive heady sexual energy from performing rock & roll, typically leading to post-performance casual sex. Caitlin's talented fingers typically play the keyboards, but she takes vocals to rock out to classics by such giants as Joan Jett, Sheena Easton, Annie Lennox, and Lady Gaga. Jimmy pines for Caitlin more than he would like to admit, relishing their time together. As Jimmy has been known to say, "that girl is sex on a stick!"

Joaquin
JOAQUIN DE LA ROSA. Joaquin is very proud of his heritage. He sees himself as a "Latin Lover" that's a few ab crunches away from being the next Antonio Banderas. Joaquin might actually have a lot going for him, if he could lay off of the cannabis. He's typically too stoned to do much other than work as a short-order cook at the local 24-hour greasy spoon (a waste of his culinary talents; he could easily be a professional sous-chef). His bandmates insist that he be at least mostly sober for performances, which is when Joaquin's non-culinary skills shine. His guitar work (typically bass, though occasionally he "trades up") is nearly on par with Jimmy's, and he has the perfect voice for covering 80's rock bands like Guns 'N' Roses, Poison, Mötley Crüe, etc.

AlanALAN KILROY. Alan is the soft-spoken drummer of Arms of Morpheus. He drives a cargo van to haul the band's equipment around. He and Joaquin are best friends. He doesn't get high nearly as often as his friend, nor does he do anything to get his friend off the wacky-weed. He is the only member of the band who doesn't sing. He aspires to make a name for himself as a drummer by combining drumming with his secret passion: beatboxing.

The Midnight People

IN THE DREAMING - DOBHAILEIN

Dobhailein is an adventuring wizard, the son of the famous wizard Merlin and an Unseelie witch. DobhaileinRaised by three faery godmothers, Dobhailein has led an interesting life, and he will gladly regale anyone willing to listen with a tale. Dobhailein, more colloquially known as "Devlin," is currently in service to High King Nuada, having accepted the duty of escorting Lady Adrasteia on a perilous quest.

As a wizard with Sidhe blood, Dobhailein is able to change his shape at will into most any bird or beast, fish or fowl. He is capable of working certain spells, but in combat he primarily relies on his quarterstaff or dagger (or the previously mentioned theriomorphing) He also carries a faery flute, with which he has been known to evoke a strong emotional response.
