“Beware the dark pool at the bottom of our hearts. In its icy, black depths
dwell strange and twisted creatures it is best not to disturb.”
― Sue Grafton, I is for Innocent

I heard the thunder, I could feel the rain.
It's the same to me, just a different name.

Ihron Emberlight and his brother, Essar, were the darlings of the Silver Legions. Sons of a powerful noble house, handsome, jocular, noble and friendly, they were attractive potential mates, despite both being willing to remain Commanders rather than rise higher and take a mate. As two of the many the work horses of the vast Silver Legions, the brothers commanded their own legion, the 9th and 12th. Both had a reputation for taking on the low-borns and the 'dregs' of the military and forging them into soldiers. Under their command, the 9th and 12th became the two most mobile,hard-hitting legions in the Silvanii military.

Both made a choice in the name of Justice and made decisions that would cost them...and everyone under their command... their futures. For Ihron, that decision almost got him publicly executed: Rather than allow the female he'd fallen in love with to be raped during an arranged and sanctioned (Read as 'forced') mating flight, he brutally killed the male chosen to mate her and then claimed her as his own. Ihron and his brother were sent into exile - along with the 9th and 12th.

Both volunteered to be Broken.

Of the two brothers, Ihron turned out to be the unstoppable killer.
