Thaiyé is a Gaddaro, one of the mostly nomadic shamans from the remote valleys in the high altitudes of the Madayat Range. Three winters ago, he has settled down in the village of Khaliad in the southernmost valley by the same name.
Khaliad can be a dangerous place for those who are unfamiliar with the land at the foot of Khal’s Lair, the nest of an ancient Fire Serpent. Travelling strangers from the lowlands are rare in this remote region. Still smarting from the conquest by the South, most Madayati prefer it that way.
Now, at the end of autumn, the news is spreading — a stranger from the South, a Wheezer, has been spotted poking around the valley.
