Lou had always been called the wild rose of the family. But what did that matter out in the wilds of Montana Territory? The thought of being stuck on a farm out in the middle of nowhere chilled her to the bone. When her family moved to Omaha from Wisconsin, it had been enough of a culture shock. Now she was being dragged away after finally settling into life in Kansas. She had to admit, the farther west they traveled, the more dramatic the country. But it was lonely out here. The other settlers in the train were families and singles hoping for a better life. No doubt, Father would marry her and her sister off to someone near their homestead to make their accumulated land even bigger. Her stomach churned…
