Gaston de Foix (1448 - March 25, 1500) Earl of Kendal and Count of Benauges, was a French nobleman in the last decades of the Middle Ages. I am related to everybody in England and France including royalties, but I am always in the background. Gaston de Candale is a hidden kin who works behind the coulisses.

- He was a cadet member of the important Foix family in Southern France. He was a son of John de Foix, 1st Earl of Kendal and Margaret de la Pole. His paternal grandfather Gaston de Foix, Captal de Buch was created a Knight of the Garter in 1438. As you see I am in a very good terms with the English. My mother is related to everybody on the British Islands from Brian Boru to the Yorks. My sister, Catherine, married to Charles D’Armagnac, the younger son of Count Jean and Constance de Navarre.

- His paternal grandfather was also a sibling of John I, Count of Foix. His great-uncle John married Joan of Albret, daughter of Charles d'Albret, Constable of France and co-commander of the French army at the Battle of Agincourt where he was killed, and his wife Marie de Sully. I hope it is not too dangerous for me being related to the ambitious Alain D’Albret. After the death of my Navarrese wife I married to Alain’s daughter, Isabelle, anyway.

- John I and Joan of Albret were the parents of Gaston IV, Count of Foix who was the husband of Queen regnant Eleanor of Navarre. Their grandson is the recent king of Navarre. And I married to their youngest daughter, Catherine. We have a son and a one-year old daughter; the astrologer said she will be Queen one day. We’ll see.

Gaston succeeded as Comte de Benauges in France. He also, as heir of Jean de Foix, Earl of Kendal, continued to claim that English peerage and therefore was styled Comte de Candale. This fact makes me a constant come-and-goer between France and England. I don’t misprize adventures.
