Leaving his brother, Aldakeen, sitting as regent upon the Ruby Throne of Melniboné, and leaving his betrothed, Krysana, weeping for him and despairing of his ever returning, Mellifleur left Imrryr, the Dreaming City, and went to seek vengeance in the worlds of the Young Kingdoms where Melnibonéans were, at best, disliked.
