In the Alien: Hive Novel
 Crane is a Senior Executive at Undal-Brech Industries with special responsibility for Development Projects in Bio-weapons and Engineering.
He's held the position for a number of years and is regarded as cold and ruthless when it comes to getting his own way. It's rumored that he disposed of several people who got in his way although no proof has ever been discovered. He also tried to persuade Tiera Shrenn to work for him as a double agent and she refused. So far, whether her placement on the Bourgainville is a direct result of Cranes machinations, is yet to be revealed.
 In the Acquisition Run Novel
Crane is a man who gets things done. He works in the background to buy off thugs, offer protection and cause problems for anyone he's paid to irritate. He's acquainted with the criminal underbelly on all the main planets and even occasionally works for the Custodians.
