In the Torchwood Novel
 I'm 36 and the head of security for Torchwood Cardiff, a position I've held for seven years. I'm a team player, look after my squad and am dedicated to my job, sometimes just a little too dedicated.
 As with all Torchwood employees I never talk about what I do or where I work and my sister Gemma thinks I'm a security guard, a misunderstanding that I've never corrected.
 I've never made any secret of the fact that I'm gay and none of my team have any issue with it, it certainly doesn't affect my ability to do my job and to be honest, my private life is just that, private, and no one elses business.
 Currently single, as I mentioned I have a sister, Gemma (31), who I'm pretty close to. I often find myself roped in to babysit my niece, Sophie, and I suppose I'm the main father figure in her life. Her real father is a complete jerk who couldn't wait to shed his responsibilities and flee in the night as soon as Gem told him she was pregnant. His loss, Sophie is a real bright kid.
 I also have an older brother, Lewis (39), who, last time I got an email, was based in Dubai. He doesn't communicate much, reckons he's too busy.....aren't we all. I gave up trying to build bridges years ago, he never really accepted my "lifestyle", his word not mine and I think it just ended up making him uncomfortable so he stopped talking. My parents on the other hand, never had a problem and currently live in Spain.
