In the Alien Hive Novel:
Jeanna is 6ft 3, an expert in hand to hand combat and has a love for anything sharp and shiny.
 She grew up on Mars, the youngest of seven children. Her parents were military through and through and in her teens she rebelled against the strict upbringing and found herself arrested several times for various offenses.
Disowned by her family, Jeanna was eventually given the choice of a long jail sentence or a military position for five years. She chose the latter, believing that she could escape her past and start afresh even though it meant admitting that she was more her fathers daughter than she ever imagined.
Her rise through the ranks was well underway when a base she and her squad were protecting was bombed by a terrorist cell. Only she survived although she spent months in hospital. After that, she was blamed for the whole episode and assigned to The Destroyer. One hour before she was due to report her orders were amended and she was placed on the Bourgainville.
