In the Life As We Know It Novel:
Faith is a political activist on the island of Marsala. She rallies against any and all important issues from abortion to animal testing. Faith grew up in Spain with her parents and two siblings. She began protesting in her first year at college when she saw an expensive company destroy a whole neighborhood for a shopping mall. After that she switched her major to politics and saw a way to help change things.
Her family did not approve of her actions but allowed her to continue on. When there was an accident during one of her protests where three people were killed she was exiled from Spain for at least 5 years in which her case would be reassessed. But it has not dimmed her determination to make a difference. Her younger sister Hope followed her to Marsala while her brother Joesph married and now travels with his wife.
Faith's parents stayed in Spain and her mother refuses to speak her. She has remained in contact with her father and has made attempts to reconnect with her mother but that has not worked out. Her younger sister has done nothing but cause trouble and get in Faith's way and she wished it was her sister who stayed in Spain. But Faith is determined to make the best of things no matter what.
