You can do such foolish things when you're young. Terribly foolish. If you're lucky, they are forgotten by everyone when you grow up and move away from the home you grew up in to live far away, on your own, as adults. Some things, however, are impossible to forget. Impossible to hide. Impossible to live down.
Moving far away can be a blessing. A fresh start. A new land, a home without a history except the one you make.
