In the Smugglers Moon Novel
 A mercenary for hire who has no allegiance to any one side.
His services come at a high price but he has a reputation of always getting the job done and many high ranking officials have employed him at some time.
 Hard to locate, Jar-Tan Zev seems to have a knack of turning up just when a lucrative deal requires his services but otherwise he's like a ghost, rarely seen and never heard. There are many tales told of his deeds in the smugglers bars but no one really knows whether they're true or not.
He has a partner, Kittani, who is just as ruthless as him.
