Born in Argos, Ariston is the fourth son of Athanas a wealthy merchant. Always showed interest in literature and his father had let him have a good education on that field hoping he would be the one in charge of the administration part of business in the future. For his father’s dismay Ariston begun to think in a career as a scribe, inside a temple or in a palace.
When Ariston made 19 was sent to war. Although he didn’t went as a soldier. He went as a scribe. His mission was not only the one of document everything, but also to give assistance to Diomedes, the commander of the forces of Argos and Tiryns, in the matters of politics and governmental issues. Ariston is not happy with his currently situation. The life of the Greek encampment doesn’t suit him. He misses the solids roof under his head, the good food and an ambience of tranquility and peace so he can dedicate himself to his studies and writing.
