In the Outlanders Novel:
 Rohnan is the younger brother of Morden but if it were not for the bloodlink you wouldn't know. They are chalk and cheese with Rohnan exhibiting all the qualities that make a good leader and King whilst Morden prefers to take advantage of the excesses of life.
Whilst Rohnan did not approve of the affair between Zoyall and Kainan, he understood her need to escape his brother and has never publicly denounced her betrayal.
He is a loyal supporter of Kainan much to his brothers disgust, and suspects his brother of plotting to overthrow the general despite not being able to find any proof.
He has tried to dissuade Anjyl from falling into line with his brother but to no avail however he still holds out hope that he can persuade her to turn her loyalties to Kainan and reject Morden. Morden has other plans.
