In the Torchwood Novel

Recently moved from London mainly due to the death of his long term partner from cancer, Stephen was renting a house and trying to get his life back on track. Employed as the Professor of Ancient History at Cardiff University he was unfortunately also the chosen host of one very nasty and determined alien invader.

Unable to control his own thoughts and actions, Stephen was trapped as his manipulator forced him to explore a darker side he never knew existed and commit abominable acts for the sake of an alien agenda.

Along with Jenny James he was taken through the rift by his alien host and is presumed dead.
