In the Torchwood Novel
Yvonne is the Director of the Torchwood Institute based in London.
 She currently oversees several teams, each tasked with investigating possible alien incursions and retrieving artifacts, weaponry and anything else that could be considered useful.
Each team has a unique strength and consists of four or five people.
The paranormal is also within her field of interest and she has one team that specializes in the supernatural.
