In the Slave to the Hunger Novel:

Jason worked as a Private Investigator in the city of Las Vegas, taking any case that he found interesting and that helped to pay the bills.

He was single, although had an on-off relationship with a cocktail waitress named Beth and a former fiancée, Lisa, who lives in LA.

After spending most of his time dealing with people who just wanted proof their partner was cheating on them, Jason was quite surprised when a murder dropped right into his lap and he found himself being framed for it.

Having being sprung from jail, Jason wasn't prepared to accept that vampires existed........Not until he fell in love with one. Finding himself amidst the Senate and their bloodslaves, Jason was caught up in a series of events that lead to him slitting his own throat, under the influence of the serial killer known as Gemini. Resurrected, Jason is now a vampire with a very different agenda!
