In The Smugglers Moon Novel:
A highly technologically savvy Chiss female whose skills ensure that the Pylat is always able to outrun its hunters and throw out a trick or two along the way.
Viewed as inferior by some, Solani is not a woman to be crossed and has her own way of dealing with those who mistreat her.
She has a deep connection with the Captain, Jezzick Raan, mainly due to their past history, acting as his advisor and confidante, as well as often sharing his bed. She also has a mutually satisfying partnership with a Hrakian named Natisse whom she's known for many years.
She has a tentative relationship with tarvik, who tends to be quite naive when it comes to anything but engines and piloting spaceships, and an even worse one with his sister, Tiera, who is jealous of the close bond she shares with Jezzick.
Speaks Cheunh, Sy Bisti, Taarja and Minnisiat. Tarvik is teaching her Bocce.
