Joey looked at his program. "They're something called 'cheerleaders'."
"And what," Max asked, "are 'cheerleaders'?"
"I have no idea," Joey grinned as he gently stroked Miw, who contentedly slept in his lap. "But they do know how to sing, huh?"
"I'm confused. She's dead. But she's not dead? And her boyfriend... is he dead or not?"
"I think so."
"But he's still singing."
"Yep."
"And it's so dark."
"It's supposed to be dark."
"Well, they could never perform this at our theatre."
"We'd have to make some slight adjustments, but we could perform something like this. Maybe not exactly like this, but like this."
"Just like the girl who's dead but not dead."
"Right. That's opera for you."
Max studied the stage. "I see."
