Every Who here in the theater liked opera a lot... But Starwood, who had expected Ted Nugent, Did NOT! Starwood hated opera! The whole opera idea! Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason. It could be that his head wasn't screwed on quite right. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. But I think that the most likely reason of all may have been that his heart was two sizes too small. But, whatever the reason, his heart or his shoes, he sat there on the mezzanine, staring down with a sour, Starwood frown at the hazy lighted stage below in Goth opera town.
For, now, he knew... ...All the opera girls and boys would come onto the stage. They'd rush for their places! And then they'd do something he liked least of all! Every Who down on the stage, the tall and the small, would stand close together, with orchestra ringing. And the Whos would start singing! They'd sing! And they'd sing! AND they'd SING! SING! SING! SING!
So he paused. And Starwood put a hand to his ear. And he did hear a sound rising over the crowd. It started in low. Then it started to grow... But the sound was good! Why, this sound sounded interesting! It couldn't be so! But it WAS cool! VERY! He stared down at the opera! Starwood popped his eyes! Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise! Every Who on the stage, the tall and the small, was singing! Without any fat, Viking women at all! And Starwood, with his feet on the railing, sat puzzling and puzzling: "This...is...opera?" And he puzzled through Act One, `till his puzzler was sore. Then Starwood thought of something he hadn't before! "Maybe Goth opera," he thought, "isn't a bore. I wonder if that hole in the fence means something more." And what happened then...? Well...in some place maybe someone who gives a flying flip might say that Starwood's small heart grew three sizes that day!
