| The Theatre is filling up, how lovely! |

As I wandered about the lobby, I took in the swirl of people.
One of them broke from the crowd and began to swirl around me. "Ah! Madam Critique, how lovely to see you again so soon!" Adrasteia said with a glowing smile. I think she was trying to dazzled me so I wouldn't notice she was wearing the same thing at the previous night's gala. Had she even changed?? Or had she been out ever since?
"It is lovely to see you again as well, my dear," I said, keeping my own charming smile fixed in it's usual place. "I trust you had a good time at the Gala last night? I have to say, I liked that dress a little better on you then. It looked so fresh," I sniffed, "and clean."
Just then, a limo pulled up to the curb and a man burst into the lobby yelling ""Wooo! Yeaaaaah! The Nooge! What up?!"
I blinked and looked down my nose at him. "Nooge?" I asked Adrasteia, but she just shrugged.
I considered addressing him directly, but I was distracted by a young woman in a pirate's outfit, and he disappeared into the Theatre's seating area.
The Pirate (or would that be Piratess, I wondered) was more Halloween than Black Pearl. Still, it was a bold choice, and I made a notation in my little book. Adrasteia noticed and wanted to know if it was for Best Dressed or Worst Dressed, but I wouldn't tell her.
A couple in conversation drifted by, mentioning a large dog outside the Hot Dog factory, and I suddenly realized what that smell was in the air. And here I thought it was the Barbarian in the cowboy hat.
A steady stream of patrons were purchasing tickets, which warmed my heart. So many interesting people interested in interesting things! How refreshing.
One goth, as it were, in a black coat and tophat, complete with rose, was talking to another in line about ballet and Goth Girl herself. Another was purchasing a "cheap seat"; I was glad that members of all income brackets were coming. It would ensure this was a full house.
As an usher passed by me, I grabbed his arm and held it in my claw like grip. "Do me a favor, won't you?" It wasn't really a request. "I've heard we're expecting Royalty tonight. Do make sure I get an audience during Intermission, yes?" Again, not a request.
Another limo pulled up outside, but as I turned to see who it was, I realized it wasn't a limo. Was that ... a chariot?
