I'm always moved by Handel's Messiah, when performed by a massive choir and live orchestra. It's very exciting and the ending, performed in perfection, is wonderful.
I really need to find the post that someone had posted last year explaining the reason the attending audience traditionally stands during the last movement "Halleluiah Chorus"
I remember it had something to do with the length of the entire Messiah I think...and folks just couldn't sit any longer...or something like that. But I'm sure the post is far more profound.
