Carols are songs, arn't they? I am fond of most of the old carols. Brings back the days when we used to roam the neighborhoods singing them, or would sing them in school (one of the few memories of younger school years that I'm actually glad I have).
Out of those I have a weakness for We Three Kings, I love the minor key in that song! Oh, and the really dark verses you seldom get to hear. Then there is Gloria in Excelsis (which I fear I've mis-spelled).
From the more contemporary approach, my favorite has to be Emerson Lake and Palmer's I Believe in Father Christmas. Potent message.
