Tale of My Hero - a limerick

Author: Sesen  Date:   01-16-12 17:07 Tale of My Hero My hero’s a pirate named Sparrow. I love him today! More tomorrow! He steers his Black Pearl Knows which sails to unfurl Winds blow, and the canvas will billow. This handsome, skilled sailor called Jack. Sails around the wide world and then back. Gold treasure he craves Fierce waters he braves With courage that most men would lack. He’s known far and wide as a hellion And proud to be called a rapscallion. The ladies all sigh When he swaggers on by Hearts he’s broken – might number a million! Jack teases and plays, that’s for certain. No fear of what hides in fate’s curtain. Not caring what fails Tis onward he sails No qualms… an intrepid sea Captain. His pleasures are many – like gold! He dug up a wood chest that’s old. Inside he found treasure That gave him great pleasure More loot than just one man could hold! He broke the strong lock with a flair Found gold coins he tied in his hair. A pouch full of jewels Caring naught for fool’s rules Jack’s bold, taking risks on a dare. All the crew knows the Captain loves rum. To its pleasure he’ll always succumb. His mug’s filled to the brim I stare – and just watch him I smile - he’s got quite a nice bum! My Captain boasts proud ‘bout his ship. His blade hangs secure off his hip. He’s quick with his sword Skills best not ignored Stands strong with Pearl’s helm in his grip. His enemies flee from his sight. Be it darkness or in the daylight. They know that it’s wise When they look in his eyes Better run, and not put up a fight. Jack climbs up the masts with such ease. His hair, wild and free in the breeze. He’s nimble and quick Never misses a trick He’s home and content on the seas. But there is one who’s conquered his heart. Has given his life a fresh start. I’ve grown in his soul Our hearts now made whole Vows made that we never will part. His smile charms and makes my love grow. So this is the tale of my hero. He’s quite the wild lover I’m blessed to discover The daring, courageous Jack Sparrow!
