The Black Pearl’s Treasure

With an old tattered map
And a compass that’s true,
The Captain’s preparing
To look for a clue.
A swig of strong rum
Might make the way clear -
Or might dull the eyes,
But he’ll have no fear.
The Black Pearl will sail
On a course he will name,
And the Captain will smile
Island treasure he’ll claim.
The wind blows the Pearl
To a far distant spot,
That sailors from old
Have long since forgot..
What gems will he find
Buried deep in the sand?
In a chest made of wood -
His shovel in hand.
There’s treasure for finding
And “x” marks the spot -
The thrill of the hunt -
Sense of reason – forgot.
A cache of gold coins -
Or rubies and pearls -
Diamonds that sparkle
Or glistening emeralds.
He may find a cave
On a far lonely shore -
Deserted for years -
He will long to explore!
Rare silver steins
Or plates made of gold
Encrusted with jewels
What a sight to behold!

Robes of fine silk
Trimmed in satin and lace,
Velvet with ermine
For ladies of grace.
Pistols and flintlocks
Long knives and fierce swords
Armor and weapons
All trimmed with gold cords
Statues from temples,
Jade from the Far East
The Captain will gaze on -
A pirate’s true feast!
But on the Black Pearl
Waits a lass for her mate -
Her Captain, her lover -
She fears for his fate.
She knows he must go
In search of this quest,
But her heart aches and worries -
Her mind knows no rest.
His spirit, his need
For gold, for adventure
She knows she can’t stop
His desire, his rapture.
He’s the kind of a man
With sea spray in his soul.
He loves her so deeply
But the Pearl makes him whole.
So quietly waiting -
Her heart aches with fears
On the deck of the Pearl,
Her eyes full of tears
She longs for his kisses -
She aches with desire -
His touch, his hot passion –
His eyes bright with fire.
His sweet love he shows -
Flames consume – then deep sleep.
Dreams so warm in his arms,
Of their vows they will keep.
She wishes her Captain
Knew of her true pleasure -
Not gold, but her lover,
Her Captain’s the real treasure.
