I am no good at poetry, but thought this may be fun. I tried and I tried to write a whole poem, but one line just wouldn't work for me and to concentrate any more might make it seem like work rather than fun. So this is an interactive poem, inviting the reader to complete it for themselves.
Spring on a tropical island is not an easy thing to see
Elsewhere a sign of spring may be a buzzing bee
But here on a tropical island every day I see at least three
Spring on a tropical island is not announced with a shower
That elsewhere may herald in flower after flower
But here on a tropical island they bloom twice every hour
Spring on a tropical island has one sign that’s the surest
[insert a line of your own making that ends in purist]
Here on a tropical island it’s spring when we see the first tourist
