There are now two bills being discussed in the House and the Senate having to do with stopping the theft of intellectual property on the Internet. I did my best to scour through some of the government verbiage to see what it really means. There are some provisions having to do with outright rip-offs - for instance, Net pharmacies and other places that sell harmful stuff. There are other provisions that have to do with copyright infringement.
If we quote another's work here on the site, are we guilty of the latter?
Is Pan in danger of censorship thanks to any well-intentioned shortsightedness? Creative artists have to eat and pay their bills, you know. But how would we, who create for love, be hurting anyone?
Thanks, Wyatt, for bringing up those two bills on Facebook, anyhow.
