With the deepest of respect and gratitude to all members of the Armed Forces - past and present!
A special remembrance from my heart to a brave ancestor, a drummer boy, in the American Revolution, who laid down his drum and took up arms to defend our country. He was of such a tender age...but that mattered not back then. I know of this due to my father's and uncle's research to qualify them to be members of "Sons of the American Revolution." As a result I am qualified to be a "Daughter of the American Revolution" - but have not pursued that as of yet.
My husband served in the army for three years, mostly in Germany. He was involved, however, in the "Six Day War" and traveled to those tumultuous lands in the Middle East to assist with his expertise - weapons repair. He never really wanted to talk too much about it...and I respected his wish. It changed him...matured him greatly. He has passed on...but I remember.
