Show off your home
and Celebrate the Holiday Season
Wassail Pan Historia!
Wassailing, (which comes from the Anglo-Saxon toast "Waes Hael" or "Be Whole") is a tradition that far predates the celebration of Christmas, and is the practice of singers going door-to-door carolling the neighbourhood and requesting in return wassail - a hot, spiced punch - or some other form of refreshment. These Yuletide drinking songs were the very first "Christmas Carols"!

There are two ways you can participate in this festive celebration - be a Home, where people can visit to serenade you with a festive verse or song in exchange for a gift, or be a Carol Singer or Wassailer yourself - you can even be both!)
To be a Home, Sign up now through Sunday, December 17th, by posting in this thread that you want to participate. Then, create a seasonal gift that you will hand out to everyone who comes carol singing.
Then, from Monday, December 18th through Christmas Day, (no earlybirds please!!) anyone who would like to be a Wassailer or Carol Singer can visit all the homes listed in our Pan neighbourhood and 'serenade' them with a verse or song - you don't need to sign up for this! Just do it!
The Home owners should reply to the message, leaving a gift and wishes of good luck in appreciation of the Singer's efforts!

Hints!
Homes ~ you only need to make one graphic to hand out to all the Wassailers. By saving the code in a word processing program, you can avoid having to retype the code every time.
Carol Singers ~ You can use different characters to visit homes, but since Homes will most likely only use one graphic, there's no sense in visiting each home more than once. Also, make your own posts fun! 'Serenade' with an amusing verse or make a graphic of your own, or dress up your avatar since it will appear in your message. And don't forget to say Thank You!
If you have any questions, please leave them with Jerry Christmas or Match Girl.
