"You got time for a break?"
"... Yeah, I can pass this off to Io for a while. It'd be fun to play tourist for a while."
"Good. C'mon..." Max grabbed Joey's hand and dragged him through the throngs. They edged their way along the South Stoa, trying to avoid as much as possible the crush of paradegoers buying souvenirs and foodstuffs, before Max stopped at one particular booth. "I thought you might like to take a look at these."
Joey studied the small figurines and vases. "Nice work."
Sensing a customer, the woman behind the counter smiled. "We use nothing but the finest paints, kyrios."
"I can tell."
"I was thinking," Max said, "it might be good to pick up some of these as gifts for the people who worked on this with you."
"Sounds good to me. Okay, -- I'm sorry, kyris, your name?"
"Iphianassa, kyrios."
"Good. Well, I'm going to need -- what, Max, twenty? You think twenty is enough of those? And perhaps a dozen of those embroidered works there? And - one of these, because I happen to think I deserve a present as well," he added with a grin. "You guys work out the price. Can I get these delivered to Daedalidai?"
"Of course, kyrios!"
"Excellent, thanks. Max?"
Max held out a small stack of gold coins. "I think this should cover it, including delivery?"
"Yes, kyrios! Many thanks!"
They strolled on a bit, until Joey stopped and pointed. "What are those?"
"I think they're called shuurrts."
"We got shuurrts on our honeymoon, remember? They certainly didnt look like those!"
"Maybe they're a different kind, Joe."
Joey studied the merchandise. "Hmm. So you put it on by..."
"I think you put it over your head and then put your arms in there."
"Hmm. Sounds awkward... But you know — " he turned it upside down. "You could just step into it this way, make it a pair of little pants."
"And the hole there?" Max pointed.
"Efficiency," Joey laughed.
