Katheryn muttered a curse on stupid grooms under her breath. The fool was supposed to be bringing her horse, but instead, he was so distracted by the parade and all of the strange and exotic sights that he'd wandered off. With her horse. She tapped her crop against her leg, pondering her options. At the moment, she probably didn't look very ladylike and she was sure Alysanne would be dragging her off to confession for her sins before the end of the day, but what Aly didn't know wouldn't hurt her.
She was already risking Alysanne's shock by having left her veil at home. She'd found a lovely hat, if a bit exotic, to go with her black riding gown. Now, if she could only solve her horse problem.
“Lady d'Ellesmera,” Alexander called as he approached her, on horseback. And when he came closer, “Will the groom be arriving with your horse, soon?" He looked around as if to find the groom. "Or may offer you a ride to the parade?”
Katheryn barely bit back the smile that threatened when the handsome knight approached. "I wish I knew. It appears the fool has wandered off with my horse." Ice blue eyes sparkled as she looked up to meet his gaze. "I would be delighted to ride with you, Captain. Are you sure your horse can handle me?" There was just a hint of innuendo in her tone.
Smiling just a bit more then before, “I can assure you, Lady d'Ellesmera, my horse can well handle you, or any other lady, that come his way,” Reaching his hand down, as if they had practiced it a thousand times before, in one clean movement, Katheryn was behind Alexander. Giving her a moment to settle herself into place, as soon as she snaked her arms about his waist, they began riding toward the parade grounds.
"I suppose I shall have to take your word for it then," Katheryn said quietly, her lips dangerously close to his ear. She was pressed a bit closer than was strictly proper, but she couldn't seem to help herself. Her dark hair danced out behind her in the absence of her veil and she smiled. She did love to ride, and she was finding that riding with Alexander was quite entertaining. Confidently, she whispered, "Could we go faster? I do love a good ride."
“Hold on,” Alexander said, and immediately when her hands tightened about him, he kicked the horse in the flanks and loosened his grip on the reins. As the horse started to move faster, so did Katheryn's arms about his middle.
“Is this too fast you for you, my Lady?” Alexander asked, but no matter what her answer, he had no intention of slowing down.
"Absolutely not," she replied with a laugh. She tightened her arms around his waist and let her head fall back in joy for a moment before placing her chin on his shoulder with a confident smile.
