Author: Katheryn dEllesmera  Date:   10-09-10 10:35 Announcing the 9th Annual Pan Historia Halloween Home Decorating Contest! It’s time to get your imagination working and dazzle us with your Halloween inspired Home or Dust Jacket! All you have to do is decorate your home or novel/reference book for the holiday and post your entries here. Winners will be announced on Halloween (October 31st) and we are offering prizes and badges for the winners: 1. First for Home: Be Featured Character for the Month of November on the Dailies 2. First for Dust Jacket: An Ad on the Dailies for the Month of November 3. People's Choice Award: Feature in the Pan Historian 3. All other Places to Receive Beautiful Plaques In order to enter, your home or dust jacket must be decorated with a theme for Halloween, Pandemonium, or the Day of the Dead. Please think about the design as a whole and more than just a collection of images. Your character does not have to be created specifically for Halloween, but if you do decorate the home of your favorite character, think about what would be appropriate to that character for their Halloween home. Use different fonts, backgrounds or anything that takes your fancy. The judges will be looking for originality! Be creative and most of all have fun with your design. Points will be given for: – Originality – Ease of use (it doesn't crash the browser or take so long to load the judge falls asleep!) – Beauty or humor – Good use of text – Every room of your home is decorated (home, profile, study if you have one) Hint: Think of your home and all its pages as one unified whole and we're the editorial team from Better Homes and Gardens! Please make sure your home stays decorated until the holiday season is over - November 4th - so our judges and membership can view all your hard work. To be included in the contest, please post the url for your home or dust jacket on this topic between now and Thursday, October 28th. Judges are all selected from the general membership and staff. The People's Choice Award will be decided by poll and will be available to vote on towards the end of the month. Watch out for it!
